I hold a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Arizona State University and am Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Arizona University in 2011, and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from University of Arizona in 2000. I began my path in behavioral health 14 years ago as a case manager for General Mental Health, Serious Mental Illness, and Court-Ordered Treatment clients at an outpatient behavioral health clinic in Tucson, AZ; it was there that I met the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners that inspired me to my current profession. I worked as a Behavioral Health Technician while completing pre-requisites for nursing school, and then as an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Registered Nurse for several years before starting Nurse Practitioner school.

I grew up in a military family, born in England and raised in Germany until age 17 when I moved to Tucson, AZ. I spent 15 years living in Tucson, moved to Flagstaff for nursing school, and have loved living in the mountains ever since. My calling is to serve the mental health needs of my community, and I am passionately involved in suicide prevention on both a local and national level. I have served on the board of the Flagstaff chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the state chapter of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), and have been co-chair for multiple community events designed to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention and education, such as the annual AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk.

As an employee of Phoenix Mental Health and Wellness, I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your path to an improved quality of life.

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, licensed to practice in the state of Arizona.  I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Arizona University in 2014 followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University in 2018.  I obtained my certification in Perinatal Mental Health through Post-Partum Support International in 2022.  I have worked in healthcare since 2009 throughout northern Arizona.  I began working in the mental health field in 2012 and have worked in Outpatient, Crisis and Inpatient settings.   I have significant experience treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, and eating disorders.

Addressing an individual’s psychiatric struggles with medication only is rarely effective or long lasting.   I focus on providing wholistic person-centered treatment and as such advocate for proper nutrition, physical activity, healthy relationships, and professional development.  Self-improvement is important to me; we all are a work in progress. I hope to inspire those I treat to engage in continual lifelong growth and learning.

Arizona has been home since 2006 and I love our great state.  When I’m not helping others to be their best self, you can find me rock climbing, mountain biking, or canyoneering.

I've been a nurse caring for patients with complex medical conditions and psychiatric disorders for the past 13 years. My passion lies in going beyond the diagnosis to focusing on what matters most: fostering healing, self-efficacy, and resilience.

When I'm not keeping up with my twins, I enjoy gardening, travel, hiking, sight-seeing, and learning new languages. I use my clinical experience and the fullness of my "self" to artfully weave individual culture and trauma-informed care to drive your personal mental health goals.
